Merlin is the voice engine behind Superchat — listening, reasoning and replying in real time, on infrastructure we operate rather than a third-party speech API. It's early: today that means English and Hindi, tested by invited users.

The engine

Meet Merlin.

Merlin is the voice engine we're building at Superchat: the part that hears what someone says, works out what to do about it, and answers back — out loud, in real time.

It follows the same principle as everything else here. The audio is handled on infrastructure we operate, not routed through a third-party speech vendor — the same sovereignty story as Genie, applied to a voice.

What it does today

Early, and honest about it.

Real-time conversation

Listens and answers as you speak, not after a page reloads or a request round-trips to a third-party voice API.

Runs on our own infrastructure

The listening, the reasoning and the reply all happen on Superchat-operated machines — the same sovereignty story as Genie, not a resold cloud speech vendor.

Adapts its register

Playful, fully professional, or a supportive listener — the conversation style is a setting, not a fixed personality.

Languages

English and Hindi, live in testing.

More languages are the obvious next step, and we're not going to claim one before it actually speaks — this list grows only as each language is real and tested.

Test it yourself

Speak to Merlin. In English or Hindi.

Right here, live — not a scripted recording. Allow microphone access, tap the orb, and say something.

  • "नमस्ते, आज मौसम कैसा है?" — hear it answer back in Hindi.
  • Switch languages mid-conversation and see how it follows.
  • Ask something ordinary — it's the everyday conversation that's the real test.

Merlin is still an early build, so this can only handle one conversation at a time — if it's busy, try again in a minute. Audio is processed to answer you and isn't stored. If you'd rather not use your microphone, get in touch instead.

The future of AI isn't somewhere in the cloud. It's wherever it's needed.

You will not need to trust us on any of this. Ask for the box. Pull the cable.
